These guys are awesome, and their new record is incredible. One of my favorite releases of 2011 so far. Taken for Yours Truly’s Greetings From NY series.

On assignment for Pitchfork two weeks ago, I waited over two hours to be front and center for Colbert and White at The High Line. They sang the national anthem together, and Colbert performed his single “Charlene 2 (I’m Over You),” released through Third Man Records.

I’ve been shooting a portrait series for Yours Truly, which has been a lot of fun. When I started I had zero experience with portraits, and I’ve been learning as I go along. Its been tough coming from the world of live music coverage where you don’t have control of the action. I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.
